Uusi Koti

Uusi Koti has independent-living 85 apartments available for seniors 55 and over. Completed in the fall of 2016, our new home accommodation provides affordable, air-conditioned apartments that come in one- and two-bedroom floor plan layouts, both standard and wheelchair accessible.

Suomi Eesti Maja (SEM)

Suomi-Eesti Maja was the first housing facility established by OFRA in 1976. This independent-living accommodation is a four-storey facility consisting of 134 private apartments for independent seniors 60 and over.

Kotitalo

Founded in 1982, Kotitalo provides services to senior citizens over 60 and individuals with disabilities who are between the ages of 50 to 59. This assisted-living, three-storey building has two elevators and 111 separate units with balconies. Each unit has a private bathroom and a small kitchenette.

    • Large lounge space with a fireplace
    • Sauna and an activity kitchen with an oven for residents’ use can be found on the main floor
    • Additional lounge spaces and library on each floor
    • Each unit is equipped with a personal electronic alarm system for emergencies
    • 24-hour emergency response (Lifeline)
    • Limited personal care services (e.g., assistance with one bath weekly)
    • AM/PM care for residents awaiting nursing home placement or post hospitalization
    • Nursing, personal support services and medication assistance (Assisted Living Program only)
    • Planned recreational and leisure services (e.g., shopping trips, outings, church services, and entertainment options such as bands, sing-a-longs, choirs and seasonal activities)
    • Lunch and dinner provided daily with afternoon and evening snacks (breakfast is the resident’s responsibility, although breakfast muffins and coffee are sold in the dining room)
    • Weekly laundry services
    • Weekly housekeeping services
    • Hearing care clinics—every 2 months
    • Blood pressure clinics by volunteer nurses—once per month
    • Dairy product delivery—weekly on Wednesdays by Lock City Dairy
    • Hairdressing services—available five days per week and Saturdays
    • Mail delivery—outgoing mail collected Monday through Friday (stamps can be purchased during business hours)
    • Access to Kotitalo’s “Country Kitchen” for family gatherings and other special events

Mauno Kaihla Koti

MKK is a 63-bed extended-care nursing home and was opened in 1991 to provide 24-hour nursing and personal care services to individuals no longer able to look after themselves in their own home.
