Recipes from Ontario Finnish Resthome Families

A cookbook that includes over 100 recipes from a variety of cultures that represent the residents, staff, volunteers and families here at the Ontario Finnish Resthome. 

Cookbooks are only $15 and can be purchased at the Fundraising Office located at 725 North St.

Stones

Surrounding the Rose Garden are 6in x 6in square granite stones that can be engraved to honour and remember a loved one for a one-time fee of $185.

Bench Dedication Program

These 4 ft cedar composite benches are guaranteed to last for 50 years and includes a bronze plaque (3 lines, 18 characters each). For $1,950 the price also includes bench placement on OFRA grounds (depending on availability) recognition on our Donor Wall and your choice of donation fund allocation.

Annual Roses

The ‘Friendship Rose Garden’ is home to many well-manicured roses in a variety of beautiful colours. For an annual fee of $30, an engraved name plate (1in x 2in) will be placed in front of a rose in the garden.

Harvest Fest

OFRA’s Largest Annual Event encompasses our community-wide draw with our year end event. To date after 4 years we have raised over $312,500. Proceeds go to the building of New MKK and purchasing a New Wheelchair accessible bus for our residents.

Whether it’s our Stroll ‘n Roll-a-thon, our Wheels n’ Deals Car Show and Yard Sale or maybe something new, our Spring Events help spark our fundraising spirit!

Giving Tuesday and Christmas Giving

OFRA participates in Giving Tuesday every year! GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, taking place each year after Black Friday. It is combined with our Christmas Giving Appeal and as of 2021 have raised $88,900!

Host an event the OFRA way!!

Hosting an event is your own way of getting together with a group of friends and helping raise money for the future of The Ontario Finnish Resthome Foundation! Choose whatever fits your lifestyle!

How do I get started?

1) Brainstorm

Brainstorm what your host an event is going to be: type of event, size and date is all up to you! Decide who to invite friends, family, colleagues.

2) Contact the OFRH

3) Raise

Collect your guests' donations at the event. We will provide you with Donation Forms (so your guests can receive a tax receipt) for gifts $10 and up.

4) Submit

Arrange for a time to stop by and submit the donations to the Foundation office within 30 days of your event. We will also ask you to complete the post event host survey as well as answer any questions you might have resulting from the event.
