Founded in 1976, Suomi Eesti Maja (Phase 1) is an independent-living facility for senior citizens.
Suomi Eesti Maja strives to ensure the privacy, security and maintenance of a safe and clean environment that provides a pleasant atmosphere where residents can live independently. Community service agencies may provide home and nursing care. It has a dining room/recreation hall for social events and functions. Some apartments are geared to income as designated by the Sault Ste. Marie & District Social Administration Board. The minimum age limit is 60 years of age.
Suomi Eesti Maja provides a warm atmosphere and clean surroundings to help each resident to feel comfortable and safe in their surroundings. Many activities are planned and residents can be as busy and involved as they desire, or they can just enjoy the company of others.

- Able to live independently
Suomi-Eesti Maja was the first housing facility established by OFRA in 1976.
Availability of Subsidized Apartments
You may be eligible for subsidized (geared-to-income) rent through the Sault Ste. Marie Housing Corporation.
